Electric City is an online animated post-apocalypitic Sci-fi series exclusively published by Yahoo!. The series is created by Tom Hanks, which seams to be another hollywood powerhouse that believes that online content will be the new generation of mainstream entertainment.

Electric City

The world has ended and Electric City seems to be among the locations where survivals has occurred. The city seems to have order and years have passed, and government and corruption seems to be some of the underlying focuses of the story. Technology seems limited and communication is controlled, if not outright illegal. Our main character is voiced by Tom Hanks is Cleveland Carr. He was formerly a team leader of the AMP (Allied Municipal Patrol) who lost his clout due to an accident.

Each episode are short and consist of 20 episodes, which also line up with a comic and have iPad/iPhone and Android apps.  Together it is about 90 minutes of this well done animated world.

Tom Hanks wrote the story back in 2003, and continued development at his production company Playtone.  After some questions of how it would be distributed, the series was picked up by Yahoo! to reinforce the dedication to having original content.

It takes some time to get the flow of the story but if you follow through it begins to come together. Check out this episode and share your thoughts.
