Our friend George (Lucas) has been working on making the new generation of Star Wars fans happy. He is continuing his world of Star Wars, by releasing yet another Star Wars related feature "the Clone Wars". The feature film and animated series fill the gaps between Episodes II and III, and will be done in a 3d animated version of the short series that appeared on the cartoon network related to the clones or the Star Wars movies.

In one clip, which begins with two Jedi carriers departing from a larger Republic starship. Inside one of them, Anakin briefs his young liege Ahsoka on the upcoming battle, telling his young apprentice to stay close because it isn't practice although she's very cocky and self-assured, snapping back that she'll try not get him killed. The battle scene is quite impressive as we get to see Ahsoka in action against a large armored vehicle that's able to climb up a vertical cliff-face, followed by a scene of Count Dooku relaying his plans to his own dark apprentice Asajj Ventress via the normal Jedi hologram communication, their plans interrupted by the entrance of Ben Kenobi, leading to a short lightsaber fight between them, Ventress disarming Kenobi with her advantage of two lightsabers to his one. The animation looked somewhat primitive compared to what else is out there with the characters not being as detailed as some might like, but the battle sequences are still very exciting and impressive. In an interview Lucas mentions that the film will not crossover from the experimental cartoon network series but will have an anime feel to it. The TV series is designed to go 5 to 6 years and it has been production for 3 years. One years worth is ready with the second year nearing completion and third year already written. But wait there is more. A live action series is also in the works for television, set for 2010! One thing Mr. Lucas points out is that the series are not episodic, so it should follow a short story feel that Lucas is known for when doing Young Indiana Jones. There is a background world but. we experience pieces of time.


One of the most important questions asked by Comingsoon.net was:
"CS: Do you think you'd have other people continue the "Star Wars" saga past "Episode VI" or turn some of the other material into films?
Lucas: But there's no story past "Episode VI", there's just no story. It's a certain story about Anakin Skywalker and once Anakin Skywalker dies, that's kind of the end of the story. There is no story about Luke Skywalker, I mean apart from the books. But there's three worlds: There's my world that I made up, there's the licensing world that's the books, the comics, all that kind of stuff, the games, which is their world, and then there's the fans' world, which is also very rich in imagination, but they don't always mesh. All I'm in charge of is my world. I can't be in charge of those other people's world, because I can't keep up with it. "

It should be exciting to see the wars that were mentioned and briefly shown in the original films, now get the full attention of stories ala "Band of Brothers". Movie releases in mid August and TV show opens in the fall of 2008.

After it has been proved that Comcast have been short changing users of BitTorrent from having the full speeds that customers have been paying for, the cable internet company decided to make it official by burying in their fine print riddled Terms of Service agreement. According to Ars technica, a representative from the company stats that this is the first change in two years.

After it was found that Comcast practices of limiting internet speeds to customers there was a class-action lawsuit by an angry customer. The FCC has been getting its own earful complaints, and according to Ars Technicas report , "Comcast has denied throttling BitTorrent traffic, saying that the ISP just "delays" or "postpones" it on occasion. One analogy used by a Comcast executive was that of trying to make a phone call and getting a busy signal for a time, until the call actually goes through. A more accurate explanation of Comcast's use of TCP reset packets, to build on the phone analogy, would be talking on the phone with someone and then both of you hearing the other's voice saying "hang up." That's the effect of the forged reset packets: convincing the BitTorrent clients that the other(s) have stopped responding."

Our Take: Comcast is just one of the companies playing consumers. Many do not know that there is a quiet battle being made again by the big companies ( like recording labels (wanting to control music prices and distribution), oil companies( deterring the electric car), Walmart (forcing companies to use China for manufacturing nearly anything it sells), to name a few) to control internet traffic and wanting to change the pricing rules to customers. For example the idea of tiers for the amount of internet access you want. Kind of like how many minutes you want for your cell phone, but with bytes. How much internet do you want to download. Now if that happens, it can hamper the way the internet is merging with our lives.
Soon video online will be mainstream, renting movies online, tv on demand, streaming music, podcasts ( online ham radio like shows), video podcasts etc... can potentially be next on the Comcast agenda. The more internet you desire, the more you pay, and if it goes beyond a certain amount the can cut you off.


Companies like Verizon are known for limiting their unlimited plans if they feel you are abusing access. We are in a world where we make calls now using the internet, entire new industries are reliant on the access you have. Who should be permitted to limit that? The companies? Google? Yahoo? The Government? Who really controls the internet? Have we become to reliant to this online abyss? Phones are now internet compliant, soon TV's will stream video using ethernet or wifi, cars will have internet access, we are literally in the beginning stages of being an internet based zombie society and we don't even pay attention to how, who nor why.

Pay attention people, we can loose control like we have with fuel, and the constitution. Let me know what you think.

Film opens. Screen is blank for a while, then it starts flasihing colours and you discover that this is a copy of a government video not to be duplicated. It says Camera found at Area 449 (I think the number was like that I can’t remember exactly what it was), formerly known as Central Park. It describes the Cloverfield incident.
Film opens with rob filming NY from the window in Beth’s dad’s apartment. He walks along the corridor and films the photos in the hall and walks into the room and films Beth while she is sleeping in bed Beth wakes up and talks to Rob for a minute before the camera cuts to her trying to catch fruit in her mouth that Rob is throwing at her lying in bed.
Film cuts to Jason filming Lily (his girlfriend) who is telling him that he is going to be in charge of the camera while at the party. He goes over to Hud who is helping prepare Rob’s leaving party and tells him is he is going to be in charge of the camera at the party and he just has to go around and get everybody to film a farewell message for Rob, like they do at weddings. Party happens (Rob has been promoted to vice president in Japan).
Hud is in charge of filming the party. At the part you discover that Rob has slept with Beth and they have a fight in the hallway about it.
Monster attacks during the party. All the main characters are going to die sometime in the film.
The monster looks like a big dinosaur crossed with an alien and tarantula like creatures fall off it.
Rob and Beth have a fight at the party and she leaves with a guy she bought to the party. Soon after she leaves the monster attacks and everybody leaves the party and they hide in a shop. when they go out onto the street they see buildings collapsing and they decide they have to get out of NY, They head to the Brooklyn Bridge and there Beth calls Rob saying she is trapped and can’t move.
They stop on the bridge even though they are meant to be moving and Jason (Rob’s brother) climbs up higher too see what is happening and at that minute the monster attacks and kills Jason. They start running as the bridge collapses behind them. They go into a electronic store because Rob’s mobile battery has run out and they see what is happening on T.V. They go into the subway and Rob’s mother calls and he tells her Jason is dead.
They (Rob, Lily, Marlena ad Hud) decide to start walking the train tracks because Rob wants to go and save Marlena because off her message on the bridge. Hud makes lots of jokes about a homeless guy that lives near train tracks and likes to light people on fire.
At that moment they notice that rats are running and they wonder what they are running from. They turn on the night vision and at that moment the tarantula like creatures emerge and start to attack them. Marlena gets hurt the worst her whole back been bitten while Hud has hurt his leg.
They crawl off the train tracks and into a room and decide whatever option they take they are going to die, so they might as well get out of here and try get back above ground.
They enter a department store and Marlena is looking really ill. At that moment the army emerges and says they have found four survivors and take them into a room where all the other survivors are (nearly all are near dead) at that moment Marlena starts bleeding from here eye and everybody starts screaming she is infected and they drag her into a sealed place and you see blood splatter everywhere (it looks like the shot her or she exploded, but you don’t see it happen).
Lily, Rob and Hud are in hysterics and they tell the army guy they are going to rescue Beth whether he likes it or not. He tells them if the can be back by 6.00 the helicopters will pick them up and take them to safety. The army guy also tells them that the armed forces are going to take one more go at blowing up the monster and if it doesn’t work they are going to leave NY to the monster and let the city be destroyed.
They leave the place and run to Beth’s apartment to see that it is leaning over onto another apartment, They decide to go up the opposite building and then cross where the building has fallen into the other one to get in to Beth’s room (39th floor). They climb up and cross and find Beth alive but impaled on a pole going through her shoulder.
Despite her pleas they pull her off and they hobble off out of the building and into the street, While they were in the building another tarantula tries to attack them but they kill t. They make it to helicopters and lily goes off in one. The next one arrives and Hud, Beth and Rob get on it.
As they fly off they see the monster be what they think is blown up. As they cheer out of the smoke it suddenly strikes the helicopter and it crashes into Central park. They survive though the pilot is dead. You see that NY is pretty much destroyed. Rob’s head is hurt and they have to drag him from the wreckage and his leg is badly hurt.
As they start walking off, Hud is lagging behind and suddenly looks up and the monster is looking down at him ( it is the only clear shot you see of the monster. It looks like a dinosaur but with crab like legs and a sort of elephanty looking face (minus the trunk).
It bites Hud and kills him and spits him out and the camera. The camera lies on the ground filming Hud’s dead face in the grass going sharp and blurry for a few secs, before Rob picks up the camera and him and Beth hide under a bridge in the park.
Rob films himself saying his name and tells people that if they are watching this they know more than him. He turns the camera to Beth who says her name and at that moment the bridge is blown up and collapses on them. You see the from the view of the camera that rocks are piling up on it and you hear Rob say ‘I love you’ to Beth and the reply ‘I love you too’.
The screen cuts back to the tape it has been recording over and you see a video of Rob filming Beth. He tells here there are two seconds left on the camera and what does she have to say. She replies ‘I had a great day’ and the camera goes blank. Credits come up. No soundtrack. Everyone died, except you never find out what happened to Lily in the first helicopter. You never find out what happened to the monster. You never find out what happened to NYC.
After the credits, footage is seen of Rob and Beth on vacation in front of a body of water. You see something drop from the sky into the water behind them. Cuts to black. You hear a male whisper, “What now?” End. No wait till credits end, you will hear an audio. We have it here after an animated image of the monster.
THERE you have been Spoiled. Watch it, it is worth the view.

Banners have been placed at the Mac Expo stating that "Some thing is in the air" leaving some to believe in some new wireless technology. It could be the upgrade to the 3G iPhone, which i don't think it is, at least not big enough to make banners about it. Some speculate new laptops with WiMaxx technology with is faster than any 3G network running today, and that Intel has been pushing into the market since last year. Sprint has been attempting to launch their WiMaxx Network with limited results.
Macworld.com then posted the possibility of the Macbook Air saying:

I've heard various whispers about the new thin MacBook. Here are a few additional tidbits and confirmations about what might be coming from Apple on Tuesday.

- A slim notebook, but not a "sub notebook"
- 13.3" screen
- Not a "Pro" machine
- External Optical Drive
- It will be called the MacBook Air

A reminder, though, that Apple has been known to seed people with false specs/designs, so these whispers may not be accurate... but we believe they are.

The Cloverfield viral game has finally begun to catch up with the film, which releases in less than two weeks. Here are some very sweet videos that hint a little more towards how big this sucker is.

This is an amazing story. Three short and highly dramatic scenes have just been disclosed, which seem to be showing the total loss of a rig in the middle of the ocean. The rig seems to be Chouai Station, which lies in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and sank a few days ago, even though there’s been no official confirmation of the incident.
This is the video, shot from a helicopter which is either approaching or leaving the rig:

This rig harbours over 300 workers and scientists. The video seems to show it breaking apart and sinking in a matter of minutes, even though this kind of modern rigs are designed to keep afloat under the worse circumstances up to 24 hours.
It’s something absolutely extraordinary. Experts are studying this footage and trying to determine the causes of this tragedy. Some sources even suggest the rig may have suffered some kind of attack.
Tagruato, the Japanese company that runs the rig was forced to appear publicly and make a hasty statement when the footage was disclosed.
Their spokesperson said it has been confirmed that the Tidowave eco group was in the area when the incident took place and he maintains that the group has infiltrated Tagruato operations in the past causing damage. This footage, shot with a mobile phone on the rig seem to confirm this possibility:

Whatever the cause, the violence of this event was registered by the Seismological Institute in Ribadeo (real town on the north-western coast of Spain). The scientists at the institute doubt this kind of effect can be the result of a human-made explosion.
The incredible speed, the scale of the event, and the sheer drama of this incident are clearly shown by this last piece of footage, apparently shot by some crew members of the rig while trying to escape.

The Website claims that this is the creature, but is careful to not promise for sure. Of course, JJ Abrams has been keeping the creature under wraps. The picture seems to be a concept piece to either a game or a movie. Later the website offered this update.

"UPDATE: Our good friend Pete over at /Film pointed out to us that this could be a video game mockup by Peter Konig’s company, Massive Black. He pointed out this image that shows clay figures of this and two other creatures on a table in the Massive Black office. My thoughts are that this could be for something else, but it also could be an early design for the Cloverfield monster. What I do know is that if you head over to Conceptart.org and check out Peter Konig’s designs, they all seem to fit into the same sort of vision. So while this may NOT be the monster from Cloverfield, it can’t be too far off. Also, for those of you visual ninjas out there, you can take a look at this slow-motion trailer clip and compare the real monster to the one in the above image. And be sure to let us know what you think…"

We think: Although we want to believe that this is the actual monster, the overly human aspects of the image makes us believe that if this is the monster it is not original enough for the shock and awe we are hoping to expect.

UPDATE: The Monster is confirmed to be an unrelated video game creature.

Thanks to VOIP technology, our beloved internet and the iPod Touch, you may now be able to take advantage of making calls with it.

First you will need a microphone for the Touch, such as the Macally iVoiceIII . Then you will need a soldering iron to solder one wire on the Mmicrophone circuit board.

Thanks to Rob.tc, we gives us some good instructions here. Basically you will need the solder a wire to two connectors within the device. Once that is done you will need the "SIP/VOIP app for the iPod Touch. You should know that it does not require jailbreaking the Touch to work, and no soldering on the Touch is needed.

Now this will allow you to make calls using your wifi access. The quality of the call is something we will consider testing and finding out. Remember that you will also need to use your headphones to hear the call.

Google announced last week an open source operating system for cell phones. The wrote a platform called Android, which will allow phone service providers the ability to use a new an innovative operating system, much like the famous iPhone, but made by other manufacturers such as Motorolla and Samsung, who have joined the open source project.
We present here a sample of what the phone capabilities could be. Remember that the phones do not exist, and the first ones do not ship till the middle or end of 2008.

This is an unofficial announcement of what is to be the new ipods. Rumored for months if not longer, it has been quite some time that a new design of an ipod has come to light. Apple announced a special event to a limited audience and of course they never mention what it can be. Well just about everything has been updated, except the beloved ipod. So here we have some images of the new ipod interface which we believe to be touchscreen based. The event is officially tomorrow, but its so much fun to talk about it before the fact.


Thinksecret says that the ipod will look like the iphone and have drives as large as 120GB. They also say "The rumormill has been ripe with other feature speculation surrounding the new iPod, some more far-fetched than others. While it is possible the new iPod will be the first to pack some sort of wireless capability, suggestions of digital radio playback should be taken with a grain of salt.

Apple's new iPod nano, meanwhile, will gain much of the same functionality as Apple's current 5.5G iPod, including video playback and a higher resolution 320x240 pixel display. The nano will remain Flash-based, with capacities expected to top out at 12GB or 16GB, in keeping with rival product offerings."
All we can say is we will soon find out. Then buy one. Chances are they will be available for purchase starting tomorrow.

New Sci fi series "AfterWorld" takes a look at our world after mysterious occurrence that wipes out 99.9% of the world population and renders all modern technology useless. The series contains 103 episodes, focusing on one character Russell Shoemaker's diary as he explains his life after the "Fall", and his pursuit of an answer, and his 5 month trip to find out if his wife and child survived the "Fall". Russell who is a technology sales person, must trek from where he was doing a sales call in NY, on foot, bike, or what ever else he can muster, across the US to Seattle and along the way he encounters survivors of the fall.

Apple has announced some great new products today. The new products start with a new look for the iMacs. They are now metallic and glass more beautiful than ever, with upgrades including : 2.4GHz Core 2 Extreme processor, up to 4GB of memory. ATI Radeon HD graphics card, up to 1TB of hard drive storage. 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.0 built-in. What models will they have? Up until now, 17-inch, 20-inch, and 24-inch. Well, today we're replacing the 24-inch, lowering price by $200, 20-inch at same $1499. replacing 17-inch with $1199 model.



The new applications are still being announced so we will update all the great info shortly.

Funk Master and founder of the FunkJazz Kafe' festival, picked up his reigns after 3 years of silence. As he worked feverishly on putting together, the festival he also has been working on a documentary which spans the 13 year history of the combination multimedia extravaganza. In the sides of the stages of the Tabernacle, are painters, forgotten artists that still use the traditional ways of art. A room was set aside for the audience to draw or paint their own album cover. The festival is all about inspiration, creativity, lights, sounds, music and expression. On stage was a collection of some of the best musicians in the industry, drummers, bass, guitar, trumpet, and even flutes and congas were played to create an authentic rich sound for the variety of music artists.

Robert Downey Jr. stars as Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Also in the news are some minor details of the Second Hulk Movie. Ed Norton picks up the character of Bruce Banner, which is the scientist who fell victim to experiments his father and later himself performed (Part One version of story). He continues to look for a cure, as the military is looking to harness the power discovered by Bruce. A character known as the "Abomination" (Tim Roth) is the evil villain who fell victim to wanting "Hulk Power", and apparently succeeds, and begins a rampage that only the Hulk can stop. but should he continue his pursuit for peace or risk being stuck as the Hulk forever?

OK so we are not know for covering as much celebrity as some other websites, we are working on it, remember we are still babies in this industry. But we felt we had to cover this. Beyonce while bouncing around at a concert slips and falls. Now under normal circumstances it isn't funny. But, she eventually requested that her audience and media that nobody post it on YouTube. E3 used to be one of the biggest conventions for gamers, but for now it has changed for presentations to the media only and hopefully we get to learn about new games through the tv, internet and magazines. G4 (formally Tech TV) is the gaming network on television, thanks to them we can enjoy some updates to the latest Guitar Hero 3 among others.

It took them a while, but Nintendo is finally busting out its Wii Zapper accessory for housing the Wiimote and Nunchaku in a FPS-friendly shell. It'll be out this year, shipping for free with a "far along" unannounced title from Nintendo, and selling stand alone at retail for $20. More pics after the break.

A company by the name of ecamm Network has created a small app to allow the iPhone to be used as a small hard drive.
The iPhone does not allow for files to be placed inside the phone like a regular ipod. So this has allowed for third party companies to create applications that allow this simple capability to occur. The interface is simple and the application is only $9.95.

The application does not interfere with iTunes.

Bonus:

A company by the name of Syncronica has announced Exchange support for iPhones using their Mobile Gateway 3.0. Using the iPhone standard email protocols, the gateway will permit over the air emails with corporate exchange servers without any server upgrades and without opening any secure firewalls.

Harry Potter 5 (the shorter name) had set some high expectations. Harry is older, he can do more magic, it should be a spectacular to talk about through the ages. Now to be fair, I have not read the book, so I will not compare and contrast like some other reviewers might. I simply want a good story and some good acting with some great visual effects for this cool evening.

I first must recommend for anyone seeing this movie that they watch at least Harry Potter 4, which this movie references almost the whole movie, and anyone that has not seen it will probably be lost. The whole Harry crew have come of age, their teen years are showing and Harry is slowly not gonna be able to pull off a young character, with one book left to go I am sure production for the last movie has already begun even though everything about the ending of the Harry adventures is kept in a dark secret till the book is released.

The story begins near Harry's home where he is in a playground and he is getting picked on by his cousin. Harry pulls out his wand, and the expectations begin. Harry illegally uses magic in front of a human (his Mogul cousin) in order to defend him from "dementors" who are basically soul eaters. He gets expelled from school due to the use of his magic, then in order to undo the expelling, Harry must undergo a hearing.

In what seems like a minor play of politics ( ala Bush not listening that the war is failing), the Ministry of Wizards ignores warnings of the return of "He who must not be named". Well as this review may hint to, the movie gets a little drawn out. Simply put, the Ministry gets control of Hogwart's (the wizard school), and in order to control information, they must create conspiracy theories, to make Harry and Dumblebore look bad. The school undergoes dictator like changes, rights taken away, and the students are now under strict rule where magic can not be used. All the while the secret Order of the Phoenix is gathering to prepare and plan against the pending doom that "He" will bring.

The story gets fairly intricate as Harry who is feeling isolated, and alone is also going to what most teens go through as being misunderstood. Harry forms a small army of students "Dumbeldoor's Army" in order for the kids to be prepared in case "He", and his armies come a knocking. Harry is voted to train the kids secretly since they can't practice the magic the are supposed to be learning.

Mix this with a fairly underdeveloped love story and you have a little bit of a mess. The main characters have one thing going for them... if you have seen the other movies, they pretty much have their own characters down patt.
New characters are fairly underdeveloped and by now I expected more visual effect craze to take over and have an all out war of magic. Outside of some magical practical jokes and some practice magic, you had to wait till nearly the end of the film to see a small, but awesome display of a witch fight. The end of the movie felt fairly anti-climactic.

The movies or books seem fairly repetitious. We are supposed to feel sorry for Harry, he is growing, he still misses his parents and we still don't know why after so many opportunities "He " still doesn't kill Harry? Although the movie hints at Nevill's importance it is implied that "He" may be chasing the wrong wizard (Harry) and it may be our innocent low esteem Neville that is the big gun wizard? Only the last book will tell.

So the ending was like the others, there was no real ending, no real closure, but that is the point, more books, more movies, more sales.

Now before I completely leave you with, "man I should stay home than see this movie?", remember, there are two types of viewers for this movie, The Fan and the parent. (Ok there are more than that, but I am focusing on these two). The fan is going to see it anyway, you have to complete the story.
The parent may wanna stay home, but I saw this movie with my daughter (a fan), and just to see the face of awe of this movie and their utter joy, this movie turns into a must see. So sit back let the Potter world take you away for a couple of hours and feel the joy that Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and David Yates give them.
